We were happy to see on your website that Clyde found a
home. The day we visited you (Feb. 4, 2006), my husband,
Martin, took an instant liking to big, rambunctious and
still growing Clyde and I fell in love with the shy little
dog with the bad haircut in the next kennel, Brandon. We
took Brandon out for a test-run and he did nothing but shake
and do everything he could to avoid us. I'd toss him a
ball and he'd just look at it. Next up was Clyde. He jumped
and ran and chased balls and brought them back. I wanted
the little dog because I felt he just needed a one-on-one. I
also imagined Clyde ripping through our apartment! My husband,
on the other hand, pictured Clyde fetching slippers and
hauling our car should it ever break down. After a long
discussion over lunch with Bob and Carol (not only our friends
but it was through them that we found you), we decided on
the little dog. As we were signing the paperwork and walking
towards our car for the long ride back to Marina del Rey,
my husband was still a little reluctant saying this was
the smallest dog he had ever had in his life. The least
I could do was let Martin rename the dog: Fergus Haggis,
Ninth Laird of Perthshire, in honor of Martin's Scottish
heritage.
We hadn't made it to the 5 Freeway when Fergus
was fast asleep on Martin's lap and Martin was in love!
They are best buds. We cannot begin to tell you of the joy
and happiness Fergus has brought into our lives. Here is
a photo. While he looks sad, this is not the case. This
is his trademark, I haven't eaten in months so if you could
just drop that steak bone to the floor I'd be much obliged
look. He is so happy and loves to play and yes, he even
chases balls. Thank you for all the good you do on behalf
of the furry critters. Michelle, Martin and Fergus.
