Email from Clydes Family Third Chance Success Dog

Hello to everyone ;
My name is Clyde: I am a boxer-lab mix. I am two years old. I adopted my new family about a month ago on March 22, 2006. The drive home was scary for me because I wasn't sure where I was going. You see, I have been a shelter/rescue dog for almost a year in three different locations and I really wanted a family. Well, I think I finally found them. So let me tell you about them. I have a mom, dad, two sisters and unfortunately to my surprise 3 kitties.

Read on because I think I've really got it good, I get a walk every morning, I get to hang out in the house and I even get to sit on the couch and dad's recliner. The recliner is my favorite because I get to look out the window and watch the birdies.

I love to chew and I have chewed many toys to pieces. I love to do this, because mom and dad will take me to the store to buy new ones. My family takes me almost everywhere they go in their truck and I love to hang my head out the window and feel the wind on my face.

My sisters play ball and Frisbee with me in the back yard. I don't like to give them the ball back, but sometimes I do. I never bark, sometimes I'll huff if a stranger comes to the door, just to let mom or dad know.

My family takes me to school every Sunday and I am learning to listen better. I can sit, stay and lay down and I heel very well. I love treats. My mom made these homemade treats for me and they are yummy. Sometimes, I admit, I make mistakes, but I am getting better. I chewed one of mom's pillows once and she was upset, but hopefully I can resist the urge in the future.

I am also embarrassed to mention but I had a few accidents in the house (I was just trying to mark what's mine), but I realized how upset it made mom & dad, so I try hard not to do that anymore.

At first, I also loved to chase those kitties, but they would growl and spit at me so now I just watch them and I have to admit I'm a little frightened of them. I sleep in a crate at night, at first I didn't like it, but I realized I'm very comfortable and I feel safe in it, so now I put myself to bed every night for them.

They are so happy when I do that and I even get treats. My family is pretty cool and I'm really happy I found them. I want to say a big "thank you" to everyone at the San Clemente-Dana Point shelter and the Boxer rescue for taking such good care of me during my stay and I will miss you all.

Well, enough for now, it's time to take a walk. Yah, I'm so excited!

Love, Clyde P.S.

I have included some pictures to share, Check them out!
