Ransom stopped by the San Clemente Animal Shelter to visit
his former caretakers, and to meet Molly. We didn't think
we would get "lucky" a second time (Ransom is a fabulous
dog!), but after spending some time with Molly, we decided
to take her home with us!
Ransom and Molly
tussled for hours in our back yard. Ransom is so submissive
to Molly --- he'll roll on his back and bat at her until
she jumps him! We took them to our local park, where Molly
met all our neighbor dog friends. Molly is very well-mannered.
She apparently was not allowed inside her former owner's
home, so she didn't complain when Ransom went inside for
bed and she stayed outside on the patio in her fuzzy new
bed. She slept all night without a peep! (We hope to gradually
move her inside; we're not sure if she's housebroken, and
feel it's best to gradually give her "house privileges-"
the same approach worked well for Ransom.)
We have taken
Molly on several long walks, and plan on exercising her
as much as possible as she is a bit chubby. We're hoping
the extra walks will help our waistlines as well!
Many,
many thanks to Brin and Cheryl at the shelter for all their
help and assistance. We are now officially out of "dog room"
at our home, but I encourage anyone looking for a pet to
forgo the expensive pet stores, and go up to the shelter
to find your "forever" dog. You will be amazed at the love
and laughter you will receive in return!
